Hypsiglena torquata
As you can tell from the name, this interesting snake is primarily active at night. It is a small predator that seldom exceeds two feet in total length. They are very difficult to find, and consequently little is known about their habits and reproductive biology. They are known to hunt small lizards though, and like the Ringneck snake, are able to immoblize them with an effective venom that is delivered through their upper rear fangs.
